Michael Sabbagh did a great job interviewing GAAM during One Spark. If you ever want to hear what I sound like when my voice is gone, this is the video to watch! hahaha You can also catch our Director of Photography Klara Cu working in the background, and yes, Wounder Warrior, if you’re reading this, we’d love to work with you to be our featured charity at a future show!:)
And yes it’s true, Patrick Duffy, not Tony Stark, is Iron Man.

Christine Hufford has created a great rendition of Zero and Claptrap…and I really wish it was DLC!

Great interview with Queso from Rapconqueso.com about GAAM; how we came to be, and what we do, and how we feel about One Spark 2013. Thanks for your time, Queso!
P.S. I still think you had that answer ready and waiting. jk

That’s right! GAAM is teaming up with Invert Game Studios, and helping to produce Battle Strat, a 3d Real Time Strategy Game!
This is huge not just for GAAM, but for Jacksonville, as Invert Game Studios, is one of the first indie gaming studios to be creating a game of the calibre here in Jax, and has music samplings from the amazing Penka Kouneva (Transformers The Movie, Prince of Persia, Gears of War, and most recently, Elysium!).
More information soon…but definitely expect to see Invert Game Studios, and their game, at The Legend of GAAM Show!
In the meantime, here’s a sneak peak at Battle Strat!

So at the end of the last GAAM Charity Show, everybody kept asking when we were going to do another one and what was it going to be about. We thought waiting a whole year to do another show was too long a wait, so for the past few months we’ve been working an planning on “The Legend of GAAM” Show! On Saturday, July 13th at The Museum in Jacksonville, FL we’re going to have more games, more art, more music, more charity art auction pieces, more organization (thank god), and bottom line, MORE FUN!

Going on First Coast Connect tomorrow to talk about GAAM! Exciting! We’ll hopefully get to cover what we’ll be doing at One Spark, what’s going on for the next GAAM show, and the first video game studio that GAAM is working with in the southeast!
I’ll also probably bring a sword into the studio, so hopefully i’ll be able to post a follow up article that won’t be from prison.

Lot of Mega Man this week to celebrate the 24hr Mega Man Marathon being put on by Storm Unity for Child’s Play. You’re going to absolutely love Blake Robinson’s orchestra rendition of Mega Man 2, and pretty much anything Random (Mega Ran) puts together is from the heart and wonderful.

Storm Unity is putting together an awesome MegaMan Marathon to raise money for Child’s Play! So, I figured I’d give you guys a peak at what I’m working on. Trying to stay true to some of those iconic MegaMan poses, but still be a little traaditional with the art style (a little watercolor-esque).
Anyways, go check out the marathon at http://stormunity.com/24hr-mega-man-marathon/, and donate some $$$ to Child’s Play if you can! Every little bit helps!

GAAM founding artists were involved and contributed to the 24 Hour MegaMan Charity Marathon, put together by Storm Unity. What a great time, playing great games, for a great cause!

We don’t normally talk about political topics and video games…we normally let the art speak for the topic for us. BUT, Adam Sessler did a magnificent job about verbalizing the current issue surrounding violence and video games in a short bit, that’s definitely worth watching and digesting.
And holy crap, it was on Fox News. WTF?

It’s Monday! So let’s kick it off with Bucky! I said Bucky!

This barely has anything to do with video games…but they’ve got the old school Nintendo catch phrase in it, and I want to watch the Wizard and make power glove artwork now, so yeah, there’s that.

You know when you see an Edbot5k art piece, it’s unmistakable. Ed’s got a certain style that’s all his own. This time he’s applied his skills to ….Bio Force Ape. Legend has it that Ed has the only cartridge of it in existence, and keeps it guarded in an underwater cage surrounded by shark apes.

And in case you’ve never seen Bio Force Ape, here’s some rare footage. Well, rare except for the fact that it’s on youtube.

The 2012 GAAM Show was a huge success! Over 350 of you showed up and raised over $2600 for charity! Not only that, but many of our vendors sold a ton of gamer merchandise (so we helped the economy, win!), the artists sold work, people won prizes, the martial arts exhibition was awesome (Who woulda thought Balrog would have shown up!) and people LOVED the Real Super Mario World Exhibit!
You guys proved that gaming is growing up, that the SouthEast WILL support the culture, and there are plenty of opportunities for gaming here. So we just wanted to say “Thank You”, with this excellent video from film maker Ken Escobar. Hope you guys like it…and we’ll see you all again in 2013!

The “Music” part of ‘GAAM‘ often gets the backseat to the Games and Art part…so starting today, each week we’ll feature some cool new music (some game related and some just flat out awesome).
So let’s start it off with Goldfish – We Come Together
And here’s the full GAAM Music Monday Playlist -01.14.2013.

Acapella is awesome. Acapella of Mega Man 2 is even better. Props to Tyger for an impressive first stab at this!

Chip N’ Dale are more than great male dancers. They’re the Rescue Rangers! Man, they had an epic theme song…and my mind was BLOWN when this original, EXTENDED version of their theme popped up! ER MER GERD!!!
and here’s the NES theme…
Thank you guys, for always rescuing us when there’s danger.

MusicMonday – Great track from Masikus , “Labyrinth” from “The Legend Of Zelda. Masikus is a great new talent from Hollywood, Florida. Expect to see a lot of big things from him this year!
Anyways, his track “Labyrinth” will take all of you old school, retro heroes back to the days of Zelda, and fearing an Armos Knight and Dodongo.

So I’m going back to finalizing E. Honda…FINALLY! I’ve always loved the irony of making such a large character fly, hence the reason for going with this instead of the Hundred Hand Slap.
I decided to go back and redraw the sil from SS4 as reference, vs Super Street Fighter 2, just because he seemed a little more streamlined and “plane-like”. Anyways, i’m in the color tweaking phase right now, but here’s a peak at some of the progress. Hope you guys like it!

When we started putting together the GAAM Charity Show, one of the first questions was, “What do we do about music?”. Then we met DJ NES. Yes. His name is ACTUALLY NES! THAT’S PERFECT! Had we heard his music? Nope! Did we care? Nope! HIS NAME IS FRICKIN NES!
Thank Mario he actually turned out to be an awesome DJ. ![]()

Kid Icarus…sooooo many fond memories! DJ Nes has prepared a sick remix for that you can listen to here, or check it out when he spins at the GAAM Charity Show on December 14! Give the man some props!

Team Ninja has jumped in a and is donating some really awesome prizes to the GAAM Charity Show! I can’t wait to announce what they are! ARG! IT’S KILLING ME!!!!

I don’t know how long i’ve gazed with awe at the poster design skills and artistry of Ron Guyatt. I’m constantly torn between gushing at his typography…his color theory…the compositions..all so good. If I had the money, I would fill a room with his artwork
So you can imagine how thrilled I (and the rest of the GAAM team) was when Ron was so gracious to offer some of his Halo artwork up for the Charity Art Auction (where 100% of the proceeds will go to Child’s Play Charity). Master Chief is going to save the universe AND some kids! Go Master Chief!
So thank you, Ron, thank you for making me feel like my design sucks and giving me something to aim for.

Here’s a another sneak peak at one of the Super Every Movie Is Special pieces from Logan Zawacki…Z Honda! Love that chest hair. Drives the other fighters wild. And who doesn’t like scars? We’ll reveal the entire piece tomorrow!
